THOUGHT PROVOKING Is $\pi$ a rational number? Compare the rational number $\frac{355}{113}$ to $\pi$ . Find a different rational number that is even closer to $\pi$ .

Therefore, $3.1415926 \times 33102=103993$ , therefore, $\pi \approx \frac{103993}{33102}$

Hey, this is problem number 40. And they wanted to know whether pie is a rational number. Um, and pie is not. The reason it's not is because it cannot be represented as a fraction, and by a fraction a minute in the form of a over B. Then they wanted you to compare it to 3 55 over 1 13 Well, when you do that, um 3 55 divided by one on three is 3.141592 92 and continues on pie ISS 3.141592654 and it continues on. If you compare for this 1st 6 decimal places to each other, they're the same. So it's close, but it's not exactly the same this pie. Then they wanted to act. They asked you to find another figure, a fraction that would, uh, be even closer to pie. So by trialled in air, I was able to find 157 bo seven 963 all over five million. So this is 15,000,707 9 63 for five million. When you calculate that out that works out to be 3.1415926 So in this case, it's the first seven characters, our decimal points, so it's closer yet.

The number 2 is also the smallest & first prime number (since every other even number is divisible by two).

If you write pi (to the first two decimal places of 3.14) backwards, in big, block letters it actually reads "PIE".
