To factor a trinomial, a student made a table and circled the correct pair of integers, as shown. Complete the factorization of the trinomial.$$\begin{array}{|c|c|}\hline \text { Factors } & {\text { Sum }} \\\hline 1(-6) & {-5} \\\hline 2(-3) & {-1} \\\hline 3(-2) & {1} \\\hline 6(-1) & {5} \\\hline\end{array}$$$$(x \quad)(x \quad)$$

all right. So the person making that teal picks the row three times negative, too. And one. Now I'm guessing it picks that because the polynomial that they were trying to factor looks like this exploited plus X minus six. And that's why they were looking for the sum of one because they were trying to get this middle term here, which has a coefficient of just one. So that means we can factor it like this. Turns out that three and negative tube add up to make one, and they also multiply to make that negative six. So that's why that row was the correct route to select, and that's how you fill in the factors with those numbers.
