in this problem. On the topic of electric forces and fields, we are told that two point charges are a small distance apart. We want to sketch the electric field lines for these two charges if we are told that one of them has a charge four times greater than the other. And firstly, if both charges are positive, we didn't want to repeat the sketch in the case that both charges are negative. So the sketch, as shown for Part A, is as below, and we want to note that four times as many field lines should leave Q one as a Mudge from Q two, and we haven't shown this in the diagram. But four times as many field lines should leave Q one as a much from Q two now for Part B, the field pattern should look the same as the one drawn in a. But the exception here is that the arrows are reversed. So here we have the field lines in which both these charges are negative and we see the field lions point inward.
