It is an example of how sexual selection can lead to some Patrick speciation. A reminder some Patrick speciation is when a group of organisms start to diverge in their evolutionary path, but they still live in the same region, so I have access to each other. So the example I came up with this gonna be song and Premier Lien birds. So if you have one group of birds of a species that seeing Premier Li in the morning for mates and you have another group that&#x27;s singing Premier Li at night, there&#x27;s not gonna be really any gene flow, and over time you will have a different thes. Two will diverge and potentially even speak.

Hello Today we&#x27;re discussing trouble number 30. It seems logical that a natural selection would work toward genetic uniformity. everyone. So the answer for a question here is actually be, and that is mutation and gene flow. So remember, mutation is for sure, one way that new genes could be introduced in a population. this question asks us as a mechanism of evolution. Natural selection can be most closely equated with which of the family. Let&#x27;s start with answer choice A. We see that it says random meeting. We know that natural selection is based off of the fact that there is mating and mating does allow for variability in the offspring, and it contributes to genetic variation. However random mating, it would not be the primary mechanism of evolution, and more so. Mating is usually not random, right, because people are really specific. Let&#x27;s take humans, for example. They&#x27;re specific about who they want to marry, and the same thing with animals there really specific about who they want to mate with. That is why we see peacocks with these beautiful arrays off feathers that are trying to entice the females and win them over. And the same thing occurs in many, many ah, different species. And even ah, there&#x27;s a lot of like even in plants. For example, if one is if one plant is a weaker plant and it does not have the necessary characteristics, mating is very selective there, So basically, at the end of the day, mating is not necessarily random. What is random is the re. A combination of genes that may occur during mating so they would not be are correct. Answer. And then we have B, which is genetic drift. Genetic drift is a part of evolution in this part of natural selection, but it is not the driving force behind it. In fact, I would say that the opposite would be true. That natural selection is the driving force behind genetic drift because genetic drift is, for example, if we see um, a population move to a new area, such as with Darwin&#x27;s finches on the Galapagos Islands, they move to a new area, and then we saw changes in the genetics of those finches. So if we compare them to the mainland finches than they would be different, so it would not be genetic drift, then we have unequal reproductive success that I believe, would probably be your best answer due to the fact that unequal reproductive success says that those who are weak will not be able to continue on. And that is a key principle in evolution and natural selection that it is the fate of the offspring that matters most and it is the fitness of an individual that is characterized by the fate of the offspring. So most important in the um in the life of an individual is to produce offspring. But it is also important to remember that those offspring must be viable and must be fertile and must also be able to make so without reproductive success. If something is, um, sterile and infertile and it cannot meet, then ah, we will not be able to carry on that generation without lineage for that species. And thus it will be, ah, just eradicated from an evolutionary perspective and it will not be able to continue on, and natural selection has selected against it. So we would choose C unequal reproductive success as our answer because once again we have to remember the concept of fitness and how, um, the fitness of an individual is determined by the fate of the offspring. So fitness is determined by I would go on to even say the fertility of the offering. And we know that D&#x27;s not the final nous because gene flow that is also that&#x27;s not a mechanism of evolution. That is a mechanism Ah, that is produced by natural selection, so natural selection allows for gene flow toe occur. But most important is the unequal reproductive success of individuals, which is characterized by fitness.
