problem. 53 for Chapter six is asking us to draw the electron configuration of the Vaillant shells off five different elements. So we're going to use this electron configuration table provided in the text book to help us accomplish this. So the five elements are nitrogen silicone iron delirium over here, and, well, Virginia. So let's first start with nitrogen. That which has five valence electrons in the second show. So start with nitrogen 23 He's gonna be two s, then here is to be so we have five valence electrons and we'll start by filling up our s shell and we go look and we have three merit remains. Someone two three. So that's a configuration for nitrogen. Next, let's move on to silicon. If we look at the periodic table Ah, silicone has four valence electrons in the third show. What's going back to our orbital's? The third show three s and three p. One too. Three. We have four valence electrons. We need to fill the S show. 1st 1 to you, and we have to me one, two that's silicon. Next we have iron and Johnny a new page for that irons. So we look at the electron configuration. Table iron has eight valence electrons between the fourth and third show. So for as 23 d six, this is for us. The D Criminal has five potential locations for electrons. This is you read D. So iron has eight surveillance electrons. So we need to fill up the s shell first. That's too three for bye. Six, seven and eight. That's iron. Next, we have selenium T e go back to our periodic table on DDE. The Valence shell is in the is in fifth isn't a 58 months, um, fifth show and it has six Valence electrons books, so five s and five p. So we have one two, three for bye in six. Lastly, we have multiple Tinian, so that's M O. It's a fair back to our periodic table. And we have five s one and four D five five s and four D 12 three for Bye. This is for D. So it's interesting to note here that, um, the five s only has one electron, and that's because this element is more stable when it has its Vaillant select. When the S show isn't completely fill So if we go back to the periodic table says five s 1 45 So instead of it being five s to 44 this element is more stable when it has only one electron in the US show. So let's go back to and fill up on the rest of our electrons. So we hade six Valence electrons. One, two, three for five. Six. There you go. That's all the electron configurations for this question.
