What is the probability that a randomly selected senator is a Democrat and up for reelection in November 2016?
Hi. We're looking at question 103 That asked, What is the probability that randomly selected senator is a Democrat and up for re election in November 2016? So to find that probability, we need the number of total favorable outcomes on the top. We should be Democrats and being elected, re elected in November, twice 16 and on the bottom, we're gonna have all possible outcomes, so we'll draw a fraction line. And on the top, we're looking for the total that work Democrats and re elected in 2016. So if we find the doubt Democrat column and go down that until we find the road that says November 2016 and we follow till those two meet, we find that there are 10 Democrats that were re elected in November of 2016. And then our total number of senators was 67. So we will go ahead and use our calculator to do 10 divided by 67 and we end up with 0.15 as our final answer. Thank you
