Use the Molecule Shape simulator (http://openstaxcollege.org/l/16MolecShape) to build amolecule. Starting with the central atom, click on the double bond to add one double bond. Then add one single bond and one lone pair. Rotate the molecule to observe the complete geometry. Name the electron group geometry and molecular structure and predict the bond angle. Then click the check boxes at the bottom and right of the simulator to check your answers

Hi there for this question, we are using the molecular are the molecule simulator to build a molecule. So it tells us to start off with the central atom and then go ahead and add a double bond, a single bond and a lone pair of electrons. As we're looking at this, then, um, the electron group geometry shows us that we have three distinct electron regions. We have single bond. We have the double bond, and we have the lone pair. So any time we have three, the electron group geometry is gonna be a trig onal. Plainer. Yeah, to determine the molecular structure. Now we have to just look at where things are bonded. We have two atoms bonded, and we have one lone pair on that central atom. Remember, when we're doing geometry, we look at the central atom, so there are two atoms bonded, and there's one lone pair. That means the molecular structure. He's going to be bent. Okay. Yes. All right. Thank you so much for watching
