Hello, so today we're going to be talking about the difference between weather and climate and how it relates to global warming.
00:08
So weather is local and short term.
00:14
So basically, when i say short term, i mean like a few days, weeks, or months.
00:25
So when we're talking about weather, like, oh, we're going to get some cold weather in a few weeks.
00:31
It's going to be rainy next week.
00:35
We're talking about some short -term events.
00:41
So weather is sort of what's happening right now.
00:47
It fluctuates a lot.
00:50
So, you know, like, or it's raining or it's sunny.
00:58
It's just what's happening right now.
01:02
So climate is more broad.
01:05
And long term.
01:12
So it's basically patterns.
01:26
So climate, when we're talking about climate, like, well, washington has a more rainy climate than san diego.
01:37
It's talking about, depending on the region you live in, like how much precipitation do you get? how warm is it? does it snow in the winter? is it humid in the summer? it's that sort of thing.
01:51
And when we're talking about climate, we're looking at the patterns.
01:56
And usually when i say long term, we're looking at years.
01:59
So like droughts, which left several years, that's not really weather.
02:06
That's talking about climate.
02:09
That's a climate change.
02:12
The climate is drier than normal than it should be.
02:18
And so, so when people try to refute global warming, they will usually say like, oh, well, it was really cold yesterday, like way colder than last year...
