In this video, we're going to talk about alcohol consumption and how the body metabolizes it and how for different people this can happen differently, depending on their genetic predisposition.

So when someone drinks alcohol, it is going to be metabolized by enzymes that are in the liver.

So the alcohol goes in to the body, and these enzymes turn it into, it's a substance that's toxic called acetylide.

So this is a toxic substance.

So what happens next is that there is is another enzyme in the liver called acetylide dehydrogenase, which we will abbreviate because that's a lot of words.
