An alternative splicing is a post -transcriptional method of control.

This is the stage where rna processing happens.

And the primary transcript, which is basically the freshly made rna molecule, is modified.

By splicing and by other methods such as adding a cap on the end.

But spicing is what we're interested in.

During splicing, there's the removal of introns and the remaining exons are linked.

Now, with alternative splicing, the idea is that a different combination of exons can be spliced together.
