What is evaporation and why is it a cooling process? What cools during evaporation?
Evaporation is the process of a liquid changing into a gas. It is a coolingprocess because the substance absorbs energy during the phase change, sothat energy must be transferred from the surrounding environment. Objectsand substances in the surroundings of the evaporating liquid are cooled.

So the question being asked of us is, What is evaporation and why is it a cooling process? And specifically what is cooling during the process of evaporation and evaporation? Simply is of substance in liquid form changing into a gas. So when we have a liquid that becomes a gas, we say that it is evaporating in order to understand why it is a cooling process and what is cooling. I've read your on part of our diagram from our previous questions. An We can see that, uh, we have liquid on the left, and we have gas on the right and or you call that heat or energy is required for a substance to move from a liquid phase into a gas phase in that heat or energy is used to break apart those ionic attractions or inter molecular forces that are holding those particles closely together in the liquid state. So this heat or energy is coming from whatever surrounding our liquid. So the container that the liquid is in and the air surrounding it's a liquid, uh, is going to cool down is the energy or heat from the air and the container are transferred into the liquid so that it can evaporate into its gaseous form. And there you have it
