So what is a control and what is a variable? so i'm going to start with variable because control is actually a type of variable.

So a variable is everything that is measured in an experiment.

You could be measuring speed of something.

So the independent variable is what you are doing.

So, for example, if you change temperature and then want to check the speed of a chemical reaction, see if a reaction occurs faster at different temperatures, you are controlling the temperature.
