a radioactive nucleus undergoes Alfa Decay. We have a helium nucleus, which is two protons and two neutrons that are released from the nucleus that is undergoing out for decay. So the new nucleus that is formed is going to have to fewer pro times and to fewer neutrons. They're invaded, gay and neutron becomes a proton, and in the process and electron is released from the nucleus, so the new nucleus will have the same mass number, but one more proton and one fewer neutrons.
