So first and foremost, the humanistic approach kind of grew out of a bit of frustration in the scientific community, because scientists kind of tend to look at human nature in a negative way.

So the humanistic perspective strives to look at people as innately good.

And it focuses on how people try to reach their highest levels of self -fulfillment in their own life.
