Okay, in this video we're going to be talking about chromosomes and its components, and then we're going to just be ranking them based on size from largest to smallest.

So here this little x structure is called the chromosome, and this is basically just tightly wound dna.

So this is going to be our largest component.

And here i kind of unwound the dna a little bit, but the whole chromosome is just going to look like this, of this tightly packed dna.

So here in the purple, and i drew it out in the unwound dna a little bit right here, these are going to be called genes.

And genes are just portions of chromosomes or portions of the dna that are going to code for specific proteins.
