Of the fittest but here is another characteristic of natural selection which is fitness or producing more number of offsprings it makes sense if a species has more children then it has it is more successful because it is more successful in passing on of its genes that's fitness but oftentimes even when an animal produces many eggs like the frog then those eggs get eaten by fishes and a lot them don't survive till adulthood.
