The formula for lattice energy is given by Coulomb's law:
\[E = \frac{k \cdot |q_1 \cdot q_2|}{d}\]
where \(E\) is the lattice energy, \(k\) is a constant, \(q_1\) and \(q_2\) are the charges on the ions, and \(d\) is the distance between the ions.
