Alright, so we're going to talk a bit about incomplete combustion.
00:04
So normally in your complete combustion reaction, you have some hydrocarbon here and some oxygen.
00:13
We add some energy to the reaction, and it creates carbon dioxide and water vapor.
00:22
But what's happening here? we're creating carbon monoxide, water vapor, and then maybe some byproduct, which is extra carbon.
00:35
Incomplete combustion because we have this toxic chemical carbon dioxide that's being produced now usually this occurs from a lack of oxygen but let's just give it the benefit of the doubt and let's say that we have plenty of oxygen what else could be the cause let's say we're burning a furnace and there are too many logs in the furnace so one reason that we could get in complete combustion is too much fuel.
01:25
If we have too much fuel, the air and the fuel cannot mix properly.
01:31
So you're going to burn things that you don't want to.
01:35
Are you going to create things from the burning process that you don't want to? another reason that we could have is let's say we burn, we're burning this hydrocarbon...
