Let's find the equation of the line that has a slope of 1/3 and a Y intercept of zero negative five. So if we use the equation, Y equals MX plus B, the slope intercept form of a line M stands for the slope. So M is 1/3 and B stands for the Y coordinate of the Y intercept. So be is negative five. So if we substitute those numbers and we get our equation, why equals 1/3 X minus five. Now we're going to graft the line. So we start by plotting the Y intercept the 0.0 negative five, and from that point, we use our slope to find another point. So since our slope is 1/3 that tells us to go up one and write three from the point we plotted. So from the Y, intercept up one and write three takes us to here. We could do it again, up one in right, three, and then connect this point and extend beyond them and you get your line
