Hello everyone and thanks for joining as we write net ionic equations given two reactants.
00:06
We have two of these to do.
00:08
Our first problem is very simple.
00:10
We are given aqueous silver nitrate and aqueous sodium iodide.
00:19
Equus sodium iodide.
00:23
Now our oxidation numbers for these are all plus or minus one.
00:29
So this is a very, very simple problem to do.
00:34
Sodium and nitrate are going to produce our aqueous product.
00:43
So they're going to be spectator ions.
00:47
Silver and iodine are going to make our precipitate.
00:53
And since we don't have to worry about balancing this equation, this is an ultra easy problem to do.
00:58
We write the formula for our precipitate and as our reactants, we will have the two ions.
01:06
Oops, ag plus and i minus, both aqueous.
01:20
And that's our first problem...
