A vibration absorber is an additional spring-mass system, m2-k2, attached to m₁. For
simplicity, we can neglect the damping of the m₂ system. A vibrational analysis will
prove that, with the right combination of m2 and k2, the vibration of the cargo m₁ can
be eliminated or minimized.
Assuming that the cargo container undergoes a sinusoidal motion during transport, then
the movement y of the container can be expressed as:
