(a) If the ambient temperature and pressure are 20°C and 101 kPa, find the speed of the shock
wave, and the temperature and speed of the air just after the shock passes. Assume constant
specific heats.
(b) Look up the values of the specific heats for the temperature you calculated, and calculate the
resulting k. By what percentage do Cp, Cv and k differ relative to the value at ambient condi-
tions? Was the constant specific heats assumption justified?
