I need help with ensuring that this network is correctly configured, including all commands, to satisfy each question and ensure that all devices can ping each other.
Network Diagram and Addressing Table:
VLAN VLAN Name Network Address
20 People 189.80.120.224/27
120 Dinosaurs 95.250.128.0/17
500 Management 211.45.30.72/29
Device Connections:
Fred:
- Gi0/0/1 - Pebbles
- Gi1/0/11 - Wilma
- Gi1/0/5 - Pebbles
- Gi1/0/6 - Pebbles
- Gi1/0/3 - Wilma
- Gi1/0/6 - Pebbles
Requirements:
In order to pass this assessment, all of the following requirements must be met exactly:
1. Do not assign any passwords to the router or switches.
2. Configure device names on all switches and routers.
3. Configure a Message of the Day (MOTD) on all devices, ensuring your Student ID is within the MOTD.
4. Configure the links between Pebbles and Wilma as redundant trunk links, with the Management VLAN as the native VLAN. Do not configure EtherChannel Bundling.
5. Configure the Fred router as a router-on-a-stick to route between all VLANs. All Fred sub-interfaces must be configured with the first usable IP address in the allocated subnets shown in the table.
6. Configure Loopback0 interface on Fred with IP subnet 105.60.90.80/28.
7. Disable ports Gi1/0/11-24 and Gi1/1/1-4 on Pebbles.
8. Enable ports Gi1/0/1-4 on Pebbles as access ports, allocated to the People VLAN, and turn on switchport port-security.
9. Enable ports Gi1/0/7-10 on Pebbles as access ports and allocate them to the Dinosaurs VLAN.
10. Configure the Management IP Addresses on the switches: Wilma - 3rd usable address and Pebbles - 4th usable address.
11. Configure Wilma to become the STP root bridge for the Management VLAN.
12. Configure Pebbles to become the STP root bridge for the People and Dinosaurs VLAN.
Other useful points to know:
- To test your network, you should ping all configured addresses from all devices, including PCs.
- For Packet Tracer version 7.x, use the "switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q" command on trunk ports before configuring trunk settings.
- For Packet Tracer version 8.x, you don't need to run the above command.
- Pebbles and Wilma are 3650 switches, while Fred is a 4321 router.
