MESSAGE OF THE CHIEF OF STAFF, AFP
18-Day Campaign to End VAW
November 25 to December 122024
A warm greeting to everyone.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines proudly joins the nation in the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women. The call of this year's sub-theme, "VAW Bigyang-Wakas, Ngayon na ang Oras!" is clear: the time to act is now.
Violence and discrimination against women persist worldwide, silencing their voices and limiting their potential. This injustice has gone on for far too long. It is time to break the silence and take a stand. Ngayon na ang oras para kumilos at wakasan ang diskriminasyon sa kababaihan.
As defenders of the state and the people, the AFP is committed to ending gender-based violence. We will continue to create safe spaces where women can thrivefearlessly and confidently.
We've seen the extraordinary contributions of women when given equal opportunities. That's why this advocacy must start with us. Through our Gender and Development Program, and in partnership with the Philippine Commission on Women and the United Nations' UNiTE by 2030 to End VAW initiative, we will work for a future free from violence and inequality.
To all AFP personnel, let us take this mission to heart. Together, we can build a society where women are empowered to lead and inspire.
Para sa pantay na lipunan. Para sa mapayapang bansa.
