The article that I chose is “The rising cost of groceries by state (2024)” written by Mark Huffman.
Groceries have increased substantially in the past couple of years. I can fill my cart with 10 basic items, and it’ll be between $60-$100 in 2024 when in 2019 I was probably spending less than $35. I’ve noticed food prices were rising during the pandemic due to a reduced workforce, workers unable to keep up with the demand of everyone quarantining, working while getting sick, or passing away. I think the issues now with receiving imports due to war and climate change affecting the source of our food.
