We have used the continuous function ψ(x, y, t) to represent a video signal. Moreover, we used the partial derivatives of ψ(x, y, t)for several analytical purposes. However, in a digital world, one cannot use continuous functions and by extension partial derivatives. Then, answer the following: (a) Does the usage of the continuous function ψ(x, y, t) restrict the utility and appli- cations of the concepts learned in this course? Yes or no, with a solid technical justification. (b) Is it possible to define the equivalent operations for the partial derivatives: a) ∂ψ ∂x , b) ∂ψ ∂y and c) ∂ψ ∂t ? If yes, specify those operations. If no, mention the reasoning behind it.
