In the dramatic play area, Alicia and the other kid were engaged in a playful activity. Alicia, who was pretending to be a chef, had just finished "cooking" some imaginary food. Observing this, another kid approached and offered a plate to Alicia. Alicia gratefully accepted the plate and placed the cooked food onto it. The other kid then took the plate with the food and continued to play, perhaps serving it pretending to eat it themselves.

2. What do you think the children were trying to accomplish/learn/understand about their world as they played?
3. What do the children already know how to do? What do they already understand about their world?
4. How do the principles of constructivism apply to their play? What dispositions of learning do you notice? How does this play represent the agentic child?
