Circuits learned in BMEN 2210 and BMEN 2320 are very useful in designing devices that acquire vital sign from a patient. An example is the ECG or EKG. Senior citizens in the US now number more than 60 million and they represent a very vulnerable population. Many, are not able to visit a doctor to get their ECG measured and analyzed. The circuits we have studies in BMEN 2210 and BMEN 2320 can be used to develop compact devices for measuring ECG and transmitting them over the internet to the doctor. This could save the elderly a lot of trouble and provide better access to medical help. You have been tasked with designing such a device. This task brings with its share of questions concerning ethics in biomedical engineering.Write a report that: (2 pages, 12 size fonts, single spaced, references can be on page 3)1. Shows your ability as a biomedical engineer to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering solutions like the one above2. Is well-researched and related to ethical issues pertaining to home-based health monitoring3. Gives relevant examples4. Discusses clearly, the impact of engineering solution (in this problem) including global, societal, environmental and economic contexts. Address each context clearly in your report.
