A hospital has three types of nurses, A, B, and C, available for patient care. They need to
ensure that they have enough nursing staff to care for patients round the clock. It is required
that at least 80 patients are attended to every 24 hours. Nurse type A can attend to patients at a
rate of 5 patients per hour with an accuracy of 98%. Nurse type B can attend to patients at a
rate of 4 patients per hour with an accuracy of 96%. Nurse type C can attend to patients at a
rate of 3 patients per hour with an accuracy of 93%. The hourly wage rates for the nurses are
₹400 for Nurse A, ₹350 for Nurse B, and ₹300 for Nurse C. Each time a patient's care falls
below the desired standards, it costs the hospital ₹100. There are 8 Nurse A, 10 Nurse B, and
12 Nurse C available for assignment. The hospital wishes to minimize the total costs of patient
care and errors while ensuring that the minimum patient care requirements are met. Can you help to solve this problem using LPP formulation of Operations Research.
