The temperature significantly affects catalase activity with the optimum temperature being 40\deg C (Yumoto et al, 2000). Our findings do not support this; At 0\deg C, catalase exhibited the shortest floatation time compared to the supposed optimum of 37\deg C. Stability lies between 0\deg C and 22\deg C, preventing denaturation and inactivation of catalase (Trindade et al. 1988). ANOVA revealed no significant differences between 0\deg C and 55\deg C, 37\deg C and 55\deg C, aligning with Brown-Peterson and Salin (1993), indicating declining catalase activity at higher temperatures.
