Psychologists recently began contributing to the understanding of large scale hostilities throughout the world. The enthopolitical conflicts generally involve groups identified by ethnicity, nationality, religion or cultural heritage and are marked by their tremendous impact on civilian population. Roy and Judy Eidelson (2003) have identified five beliefs that drive such groups toward conflict. These beliefs include superiority, injustice, vulnerability, distrust, and helplessness. Eidelson and Eidelson suggest that although these are typically viewed as individual beliefs that contribute to conflict, they can also describe the worldview of groups. In this discussion please identify an ethnopolitical conflict to investigate. Some examples include the cases of Holocaust, East Timor, the Armenian massacres, Cambodia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Rwanda, Chechnya, Northern Ireland, Darfur, South Africa, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Once you have chosen a specific case, please describe the conflict selected in detail. Explain what happened, where it happened, and include any background information you have learned about the groups involved in this case
