Group Proposal & Research Project Parts I and II – 30%
This assignment will allow you to explore and report on, in detail, one of the important topics described in the textbook. A list of specific topics will be made available to you in week 8.
You are not expected to cover the entire chapter but focus more narrowly on a sub-topic and explore it in great detail. You will need to thoroughly understand the topic by reviewing the relevant chapter and conducting further research through outside resources (properly referenced/cited). You are expected to:
- Include relevant, current information and data
- Explore problems, challenges, barriers, difficulties
- Provide recommendations on how you might effectively address issues
You may choose to focus more narrowly on a sub-topic and explore it in great detail. For assistance in identifying how to do this, please ask for assistance. Include your ideas in your proposal.
Part I – 10%
The first part of this assignment is a proposal. This part of the assignment is worth 10% of your final grade.
- Treat this as a project proposal that you will be submitting to your instructor
- Once your group has chosen a topic, create a 1-2 page summary and project plan including the following:
- Introduce briefly your team and the topic you have chosen and why
- What are the tasks you will need to do to complete this research project
- When will they be completed
- How will you complete them
- Where will you look for the information
- Who will complete which parts
This is an opportunity for you to get approval and feedback on your plans and includes a project timeline which will help you stay on track.
It can be submitted in Word, PowerPoint, or Excel format and should provide an overview of your strategy, resource/data collection, analysis, and decision-making methods.
It must be submitted via Blackboard, by the start of class Week 9. It is important that you articulate your proposal clearly to ensure your success with the report.
