In this demonstration speech, I will show you some basic techniques for performing CPR, a crucial skill in nursing that can save lives.First, ensure the scene is safe and the person is unresponsive. Call 911 or have someone else call for emergency assistance.Next, check for breathing. If the person is not breathing or only gasping, begin CPR.Position the person: Lay them flat on their back on a firm surface.Perform chest compressions: Kneel beside the person, place the heel of one hand on the center of their chest, and the other hand on top. Keep your arms straight and push down hard and fast at a rate of 100 to 120 compressions per minute. Aim for a depth of about 2 inches.Give rescue breaths: After 30 compressions, open the airway by tilting the head back slightly and lifting the chin. Pinch the nose shut, take a normal breath, seal your lips around the persons mouth, and give two breaths, each lasting about one second. Watch for the chest to rise.Continue the cycle of 30 compressions followed by 2 breaths until emergency help arrives or the person shows signs of life.Remember, CPR can significantly increase the chances of survival in emergencies, and knowing how to perform it is an essential skill for anyone, especially in nursing. Thank you for your attention, and I encourage everyone to consider getting certified in CPR.
