Poor Quality Control (QC) of prepared media can adversely affect the performance.
The following are all true, except;
a. Nutrient medium (BA, CA): must be tested for the growth of one or two organisms
b. Selective media: should be tested with organisms which would be expected to grow and those organisms expected not to grow
c. Blood agar: Performance test *(hemolysis and growth) should be conducted using S. pyogenes and S. aureus
d. Each medium must be tested with organisms expected to give positive reaction as well as with organism expected either not to grow or produce a negative reaction
