Lucy for the past year has constantly worried about getting sick. She has been to the doctor repeatedly,
but they find nothing wrong. She specifically fears getting cancer and having to undergo chemotherapy.
She consistently checks her breasts for cancer, as this is the type of cancer her mother was diagnose
with. She has read about cancer a lot on various websites, and last month her mother was diagnosed
with cancer.
Recently (4 months ago), Lupie went through a very difficult divorce. His ex-wife got a lot of money, and
he is not getting to see his children as much as he likes. Within two months of the divorce, Lupie began
experiencing significant weakness in his left arm. At times, he could barely lift it without the assistance of
his other arm. Lupie's doctors ran numerous neurological tests and found nothing. Lupie began seeing a
counselor to process the significant stress in his life (e.g., the divorce), and his symptoms are slowly
improving.
