Filter analysis and design is usually performed in the Laplace domain or S-
domain. In other words, there is a mathematical transform (known as the
Laplace transform) from the time domain to the Laplace domain. You should
be learning about the Laplace transform in ELEC2302 (Signals and Systems).
For this course, we do not require the advanced mathematics. Instead, we
only need to know that we replace the 'jw' in the phasor domain with an 's' -
it is as simple as that. For an inductor with inductance, L, and a capacitor
with capacitance C, what are the corresponding impedances in the S-
domain?
