Following on fromthe Design Specification created in Assignment 1; Create
technical solutions to meet the customer brief, and propose a final design.
To pass this assignment, you must:
1) Use of concept sketches and ideas
2) Propose at least 3 possible design solutions
3) Use of decision making tools to help develop solutions, and derive the preferred final
design solution

To obtain a merit, you must pass the above and show that you can
Use appropriate engineering software to create 3D models of design solution
ideas/concepts
To obtain a distinction, you must pass the above and:
Critically compare and provide justification for your chosen final design solution
Submission Format:
A written evaluation to include three potential design solutions with evidence of the
use of engineering drawings or sketches. Concept sketches should outline specific
components of the design and how you have derived each solution.
Within your report you should use of decision making tools to help develop solutions,
and derive the preferred final design solution
To achieve a Merit, the submission should also:
Demonstrate the use of 3D modelling to design or test some of the proposed design
solutions. This can take the form at of screenshots of your 3D designs with
comments and explanations.
To achieve a Distinction, the submission should also:
Use appropriate decision making tools to critically compare and provide justification
for your chosen final design solution.
