SIMULATION 1 RULES
Simulate one small evolving population in which there is no selection. Set the population size (N) to 10, the initial frequency of allele A1 (freqA1) to 0.5, the number of generations to 100 (# of Generations), and the number of populations (# of Populations) to 1. Make sure the population is finite, the fitnesses of all three genotypes are 1, there is no migration, there is zero mutation, and bottleneck box is unchecked.
Simulation 2
Simulate evolving population. Keep all the settings from Simulation 1 the same and proceed as instructed in the question.
What does it mean for an allele to be lost?
What does it mean for an allele to be fixed?
Simulation 3
Increase the population size, which you should set at 1,000.
Question 7 (1 point)
In Simulation 2, why?
Question 8 (1 point)
In how many populations was allele A1 fixed after 100 generations? Your answer should be written as a single digit whole number (e.g. 0).
Question 9 (1 point)
How did the... What was majorly responsible for the difference?
