Q1. (25 pts) A separately excited DC generator is driven by a prime mover with a constant speed of 1400 rpm. The magnetization curve of the generator obtained at a speed of 1500 rpm is given below. The armature resistance and the field resistance of the generator is 0.09 $\Omega$ and 55 $\Omega$, respectively. The adjustable resistance ($R_{adj}$) in the field circuit can be adjusted between 0 and 700 $\Omega$. The field supply voltage is 150 V (DC). Armature reaction is ignored.
Answer the following questions:
a) Find the terminal voltage of the generator under no load condition when $R_{adj}$ is adjusted to 400 $\Omega$.
b) Design the value of the adjustable resistance to get an output voltage of 100 V when a resistive load of 20 ohm is connected to the output of the generator.
c) For the conditions in part (b), find the converted power of the generator
d) What is the minimum output voltage of the generator at no-load condition?
