The point of the test that I decided to take was to measure the association between male, female, liberal arts, and science. So the questions were sequenced to see if I associated any of the following with each other: male and liberal arts, male and science, female and liberal arts, or female and science. They explain that people are quicker to respond to the questions if they associate the subject with the sex. For example, my test included using two buttons, so whichever I answered faster had an impact on my results. Reviewing my results at the end, I was not too surprised. There were a few questions in the beginning before this test asking if I associated an individual's sex with liberal arts or science. The results reflected what I thought was my answer in the beginning to those questions. Although I will say that while taking some of this test, I was stuck on a few of them. It is so easy to form implicit associations. In this case, I feel like many would associate male with science and female with liberal arts. I think in the world, there are so many things out there that are associated with a certain sex. For example, most people associate construction workers with males. Teachers are mostly associated with being a female's job. The more we hear other people sharing these beliefs and seeing them for ourselves, the more we form and believe these biases. I think in recent years, biases have calmed down a little bit. For example, we have had a lot more female police officers in the United States, a job that previously was viewed as a man's job.
