A 64 y/o patient with long-standing NASH cirrhosis presents to the ED after the patient’s family notes increased jaundice and confusion, worsening over the past several days (the patient is undergoing workup for possible liver transplant). Upon exam, the patient is alert and oriented to person only, confused as to place and time. STAT head CT reveals no acute intracranial pathology, and Blood glucose level is 90mg/dl. The patient is noted to have a tense and distended abdomen, and dark, brown-colored urine. CMP reveals an elevated bilirubin level (total bilirubin level 16mg/dl), and the patient’s ammonia level and INR are elevated (150mg/dl and 3.0, respectively). 1.) What is the role of the liver in maintaining homeostasis? What conditions can potentially lead to altered hepatic function (acute or chronic)? 2.) What is the likely cause of the patient’s elevated INR? 3.) What treatment will likely be indicated for this patient’s tense, distended abdomen? What are important considerations for the management of this patient prior to, during, and post-procedure? 4.) What is likely contributing to this patient’s altered mental status? What treatment is indicated, and what are implications for nursing care?

12. After the Euro became the major currency of European countries, individual countries like Greece, lost their ability to control the money supply, that authority is taken by the European Central Bank. At the height of Greek Crises in Europe, the European Central Bank refused to release more Euros to Greece, which decreased the money supply of Greece to critical levels. Assuming demand remained the same, show on a graph, how the decrease in the money supply would affect interest rate in Greece according to the Liquidity Preference Model. Assume Corona Virus did create a negative demand shock, a negative supply shock, or both. Specify your assumption. Answer questions 13 and 14 accordingly. 13. Describe the economic effect created by the shock you assumed. Describe how the economy will return to the long-run equilibrium without state intervention. 14. Name either a monetary or a fiscal tool that could be used to make the economy return to the long-run equilibrium faster. Describe how the tool you have chosen will bring the economy back to the long-run equilibrium. 15. There are several views on how governments should manage their budget. Write which view you find most appropriate and explain your answer. (You don't need to know all technical details. Base your evaluation on what you have learned in the relevant chapter(s) of this course)

Do you agree? The point of the test that I decided to take was to measure the association between male, female, liberal arts, and science. So the questions were sequenced to see if I associated any of the following with each other: male and liberal arts, male and science, female and liberal arts, or female and science. They explain that people are quicker to respond to the questions if they associate the subject with the sex. For example, my test included using two buttons, so whichever I answered faster had an impact on my results. Reviewing my results at the end, I was not too surprised. There were a few questions in the beginning before this test asking if I associated an individual's sex with liberal arts or science. The results reflected what I thought was my answer in the beginning to those questions. Although I will say that while taking some of this test, I was stuck on a few of them. It is so easy to form implicit associations. In this case, I feel like many would associate male with science and female with liberal arts. I think in the world, there are so many things out there that are associated with a certain sex. For example, most people associate construction workers with males. Teachers are mostly associated with being a female's job. The more we hear other people sharing these beliefs and seeing them for ourselves, the more we form and believe these biases. I think in recent years, biases have calmed down a little bit. For example, we have had a lot more female police officers in the United States, a job that previously was viewed as a man's job.
