Texts: The Three Scenarios
You are the Athletic Director for a high school. Your mascot is old and worn out and has become an embarrassment. You want to raise money to purchase a new mascot to be used at events (primarily football, basketball, pep rallies, and so forth).
Identify the exact mascot outfit that you would like to purchase. Print out the page and identify the total cost (with applicable taxes, shipping, and so forth).
Provide me with details for a fundraising plan to pay for the mascot without taking anything from your existing budget. Give me a detailed analysis of your costs to execute the fundraiser, time commitment, people involved, etc.
You are the Athletic Department at an NCAA school with FBS-level football. You control a number of "season" tickets, including four at the coveted fifty-yard line. Create a plan that would allow you to auction these tickets for substantially more money than their face value by creating a "basket of goods" to accompany the tickets.
Identify the exact items that go in the basket and the cost of each item to you.
Identify when, relative to the game, you would auction the basket.
Describe how you would "hype" the auction and to whom.
Guesstimate the value of the winning auction.
You are a professional sports franchise (minor league) that is adding a room to your facility to house memorabilia from the team's history (a little museum, essentially). You have an absolutely dedicated fan base. You need to raise $1,000,000 and you must use this as an opportunity to engage at least 1,000 fans (preferably more). Determine what you can sell them that will allow you to build the room and provide every fan with some permanent recognition for their "gift." Include in your analysis that you must pay for whatever it is that you provide them (or whatever you build into the structure to pay tribute to them).
