10. A generator uses a coil that has 105 turns and a 0.900-T magnetic field. The frequency of this generator is 50.0 Hz, and its emf has an rms value of 220 V ($V_{rms} = \frac{V_0}{\sqrt{2}}$). Assuming that each turn of the coil is circular, determine the length of the wire from which the coil is made.

Problem 6 A continuous-time system is given by the input/output differential equation $\frac{d^2y(t)}{dt^2} + 2\frac{dy(t)}{dt} + 3y(t) = \frac{dx(t)}{dt} + x(t - 2)$ (a) Compute the transfer function $H(s)$ of the system. (b) Compute the impulse response $h(t)$. (c) Compute the step response.

Follow along with the DNA extraction exercise and answer the questions for this exercise! If you want to extract DNA at home, collect the materials below. Prepare your buffer solution ahead of time, and chill your ethanol (or isopropyl) alcohol in ice. Consult your textbook about using your own DNA. This activity is designed to work with a fruit, preferably a soft one like a strawberry or banana. - baggie, or ziplock sandwich size 1 empty test tube (15ml), or small glass (shot glass size, or smaller) 1 larger test tube (50 ml), or another small glass a small funnel that fits in the 50ml vessel cheese cloth or a coffee filter a long toothpick or wooden 'sandwich stick' *10ml of buffer solution ***ethanol or isopropyl alcohol. Chilled. at least 85% denatured alcohol a transfer pipet (optional) *To make the buffer - you need to mix 90 ml of water with 7 ml detergent (use dish soap or shampoo), then add 1/4 teaspoon salt. This is the smallest batch size I could find. Once you make the solution you only need to use a small amount of it. *** this type of alcohol is dangerous, and not for drinking!!! Do not ingest or get it in your eyes. If it gets on surfaces, it will evaporate quickly, but should be rinsed. When pouring down the drain, dilute with water. It is also highly flammable, do not expose to heat or flame. Follow along with the videos and answer the questions as you go! What is DNA? What does mashing the strawberries do to the cells? What does it do to the DNA? Why can we see the DNA strands in the ethanol but not in the extraction buffer solution? How do you think DNA extracted from animal cells would differ from that of plant cells? Brainstorm an example of something you could do with DNA now that you have taken it out of the cell. What can DNA tell us?
