Question 7

The following information is available about a simple beam with uniformly distributed load.
Calculate the deflection at the center of the beam. The beam has a wide-flange section with a
uniformly distributed load of 142 lb/ft, a Young's modulus of $E = 22 \times 10^6$ psi, a length of 20 ft. The weight
of the beam per foot is 2994 lb/ft. Note: the weight of the load must be added to the uniformly distributed
load to calculate the deflection of the beam. If the deflection of the beam is given as 13.7 inches, calculate
the area moment of the beam, $I$, (in$^4$)
