Work these problems on a separate sheet of paper, in order, and then scan and submit as a pdf in Canvas.
All your work needs to be shown.
For each of the problems, you need to:
* Draw a normal curve with correctly shaded region(s), size of given area or given number on the number line, and labeled number line (z, x, or problem specific units). The size of a shaded region and/or location of the number on the numberline should be reasonable. See my videos for examples on how to draw these.
* State which calculator program you are using and what your inputs are.
* Clearly box or circle your answer.
1. Find P(z < 1.5) for a standard normal distribution (4 pts)
2. Find the 70% percentile in a standard normal distribution (4 pts)
3. The mean number of apps on a smartphone in the U.S. is 90. Assume the distribution of the number of apps is normally distributed with a standard deviation of 25.
a) What proportion of all smartphones in the U.S. has over 100 apps? (4 pts)
b) What is the probability that someone in the U.S. has less than 20 apps? (4 pts)
4. Scan and upload your work and answers as a pdf file into Canvas. The page needs to be legible (picture is clear) and turned the right way (4 pts)
