Below is an example paragraph that would be a low level 2 for a Grade 8 student. Rewrite this paragraph adding more information and detail, transition words, descriptive words (adjectives and adverbs), and replacing dead words.
The four seasons are spring, summer, fall, and winter. All of them have different weather. In spring, flowers grow, and the weather gets warmer. Animals start to come out. Summer is hot. People like to swim and play outside. In fall, the leaves change color and fall off the trees. The weather starts to cool down. Winter is cold. The sun sets early. Every season is different.
