A study aimed to investigate the relationship between the age of respondents and the number of hours per day they spend watching TV. A simple linear regression was conducted, and the results are shown in the SPSS output image. 25 marks: 5 each a) Is there any correlation between the dependent and independent variables? Describe and indicate if it was significant with supporting evidence. If this information sufficient to truly conclude there is a correlation? b) Examine the regression coefficient for AGE OF RESPONDENT. What does the value suggest about the relationship between age and the number of hours spent watching TV per day? c) Discuss the significance of the regression model as indicated by the F-statistic and its associated p-value in the ANOVA table. What does this imply about the model? d) Analyze the R Square value. What does it tell you about the proportion of variance in the number of hours spent watching TV per day that is explained by the age of the respondent? e) Using the unstandardized coefficient for AGE OF RESPONDENT, calculate the predicted number of hours spent watching TV for a respondent who is 50 years old. Interpret your result in the context of the regression model. (Ensure you provide an appropriate equation) Variables Entered/Removed: Model: Variables Entered: AGE OF RESPONDENT Variables Removed: None Method: Enter a. Dependent Variable: HOURS PER DAY WATCHING TV b. All requested variables entered. Model Summary: Adjusted R Square: 0.157 Std. respond to this Market concentration is "when a few firms dominate the market" (Azar et al., 2022). The correlation between market concentration and price levels is that a dominant firm has the power to offer competitive prices to consumers, if a firm that is dominating the market uses all the available resources to offer the best prices it makes it more difficult for other firms to join that same market. If it is difficult for other firms to join the market this can lead to higher consumer prices. When there is a low concentrated market, firms tend to have lower prices to draw in customers and have several products and services. When there is a highly concentrated market there is a limited amount of resources and higher prices because of the limited amount of resources. For example, when the labor market concentration is high " higher concentration is associated with significantly lower posted wages" (Azar et al., 2022). While labor market concentration differs from product market concentration it has similar ideas. When there is a higher concentration in labor there is a lower wage for workers. Another example of market concentration and price levels is the dominant companies such as Apple and Samsung. Apple and Samsung are two companies that have dominated the smartphone industry by setting high prices. This market is very concentrated because the limit of products released causes consumers to want products that have a high price. Thus, Apple and Samsung dominate the industry and limit the resources consumers have, as well as push out their competition. The ethical ramifications of market concentration are limiting the growth of smaller businesses, having high prices, limiting the amount of resources provided to consumers, and having high-quality products.
