Water contained in a piston - cylinder assembly executes a power cycle consisting of four processes, in series: two constant pressure processes and two constant volume processes.
Process 1-2: Saturated liquid water is heated as it is expanded at a constant pressure of 10 bar to the saturated vapor state.
Process 2-3: Water is cooled at constant volume to 100°C.
Process 3-4: Water is cooled as it is compressed at a constant pressure.
Process 4-1: Water is heated at constant volume to initial state (Saturated liquid at a pressure of 10 bar).
a) Sketch the cycle on a P-v diagram,
b) Sketch the cycle on a T-v diagram.
c) For each process determine the work, in kJ/kg.
d) For each process determine the heat transfer, in kJ/kg.
