You are given that RB = 1.8 MΩ, RL = 4.7 kΩ, RE = 1 kΩ, C1 = C2 = 10μF and VCC = 15V.
(i) How are voltage Vout and current IB are developed.
(ii) Why are capacitors C1 and C2 included in the circuit?
(iii) Write the load line equation for the circuit in figure 2.
(iv) If VCE = 7.5V and αE = 50, calculate IC and IB. (2 marks)
c) i) In a PNP bipolar transistor, what happens if the base region was made
extra wide ( i.e much wider than the diffusion length of holes).
(ii) Describe how such a device would operate and comment on the current flow.
