Does living on campus affect the monthly expenses of university students?
Hypothesis:
Studying on campus is more costly than studying at home.
Introduction
People nowadays frequently use their phones. They take their phones with them wherever they go. What makes the phone so unique? The type of phone we are talking about right now, in particular, is a smartphone. Apart from texting and calling, smartphones are equipped with a variety of useful applications that may be used as work tools, reminders, and much more.
In the beginning, our group decided to do a study on measuring the satisfaction of users using applications on their smartphones. But then, we realized that it is quite difficult for us to measure satisfaction. Therefore, we changed our study from measuring their satisfaction on using the application to observing the money that they spent on in-app purchase applications. To be specific, we compare them with two types of applications: games applications and other applications such as entertainment apps, educational apps, and finance apps.
Next, we state our hypothesis that people spend more on games rather than in-app purchases because they prefer game features more than other applications. People nowadays often spend their money on games such as "Mobile Legends: Bang Bang," "PUBG: Mobile," and "Genshin Impact." However, there are also people who do spend their money on other apps like "Spotify," "Netflix," and "YouTube."
Thus, to confirm our hypothesis, we take a sample of 100 respondents to be used for data analysis, which is gathered through a survey that we distributed among various types of people.
Furthermore, we create our survey using "Google Form" and distribute the survey links through social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram. In the survey, we ask them about their demographics, what kind of apps they use, how much they spend, and we ask about their funding sources, whether they use their pocket money, scholarship, or loans.
