Project 2-1: Structure, Process, Outcome, and Patient Experience Measures Project Description: For a comprehensive understanding of performance, healthcare organizations measure four distinct characteristics: structure, process, outcome, and patient experience measures. Structure measures are used to assess the organization's capacity to provide quality patient care. Process measures are used to assess satisfactory completion of healthcare tasks. Outcome measures are used to assess the end result of healthcare services. Patient experience measures are used to better understand how patients perceived the healthcare services. In this project, you'll identify which characteristic (structure, process, outcome, or patient experience) is being evaluated by a performance measure.

For each performance measure listed below, determine whether the measure is used to evaluate healthcare structure, process, outcome, or patient experience. The measures in this project are commonly used in ambulatory surgery centers.
1. Percent of patients with a complete admission assessment (as defined by facility policy)
2. Percent of patient records containing accurate insurance information
3. Percent of surgeries that begin within 15 minutes of scheduled start time
4. Average length of stay from admission to discharge (in hours)
5. Percent of patients requiring hospital admission following ambulatory surgery
